ACT/SAT Test Scores
Mayville State University is test-optional and does not require test scores for admission. An admission decision will rely on the high school grade point average (GPA) and core coursework. While we do not require test scores for admission, applicants may want to provide test scores if they believe it will help provide a more complete representation of academic abilities. Also, MSU will still consider test scores for placement into appropriate math and English courses. See Placement for more information.
MSU ACT code is 3212 and MSU SAT code is 6478.
Exceptions:
- Applicants age of 25 or older on the first day of class are exempt from the high school core course requirements.
- Applicants who do not meet the GPA and core course requirements are encouraged to apply and their application will be reviewed individually and more comprehensively. You will be considered for admission if there is evidence in your academic records that demonstrates a high probability of success.
- Applicants with GPAs below these standards, may be required to participate in provisional and/or credit hour limits to support students academically during their first year of enrollment.
Applicants should consult their school counselor or the Office of Admissions regarding acceptability of high school credits.
Additional requirements to complete an admission file may include:
- Verification of immunization of MMR and Meningococcal. This is required for students enrolled in any on-campus class and living in on-campus housing. Students ages 21 and younger who are residing in campus housing must provide documentation that they received the Meningococcal disease vaccination within the last five years.
