Mayville State University welcomes students from diverse backgrounds and identities, all sharing a commitment to academic excellence within our supportive community. Whether you're a local or from afar, we aim to ensure a straightforward application process tailored to your needs.
There is no application deadline; but as we like to say: Now is a good time.
No matter what type of student you are, we want to make your application process as seamless as possible.
- First-Year Applicant: A high school graduate or authorized equivalent who has not attended a postsecondary institution after high school graduate. High school students who completed or are enrolled in college coursework or have earned a degree while in high school are considered first-year applicants.
- Transfer Applicant: A student who has previously attended one or more postsecondary institution following high school graduation.
- Former Applicant: A former enrolled student who left Mayville State University and plans to return.
- Non-Degree Applicant: A student whose goal is to take a limited number of course(s) for the purposes of personal or professional enrichment and who have no intent of accumulating credits toward a certificate or degree.
- Early Entry Applicant: A current high school student who is looking to take course(s) prior to high school graduation.
- Collaborative Applicant: A student who is earning a degree from Mayville State University, but taking courses at another North Dakota University System (NDUS) institution within the same term for financial aid purposes.
- International Applicant: A student who is not a United States citizen and
- Will be present in the United States on a temporary non-immigrant basis, or
- Will study online from outside the United States.
- Graduate Applicant: A student who has earned a bachelor's degree and is pursuing additional education in a specific program.
