EC 336 Social & Emotional Development & Guidance in ECE

This course involves studying classroom management, motivation, building self-esteem, and positive guidance strategies that support crisis prevention and intervention. Teacher candidates will understand social-emotional development in children and how to apply developmentally appropriate techniques and systems in the classroom. Topics include guidance systems, cultural influences, physical environments, adult’s role in the guidance system, discipline, children's aggression, prosocial behavior, positive self-esteem, and various approaches to building supportive guidance systems for all learners. Pre-requisite: EC 210 or EDUC 250
