ENGL 301 Reading and Writing about Texts

The course provides close analysis of literary texts, including but not limited to poetry, fiction, and drama; it emphasizes reading and writing exercises to develop basic interpretive skills, and it examines figurative language, central ideas, relationship between structure and meaning, and narrative point of view. An introduction to utilizing literary criticism and theory is included. Grade of "C" or higher in ENGL 110 and ENGL 120 or ENGL 125.
