Admission Types
First Year Student: A high school graduate or authorized equivalent who has not attended a post-secondary institution after high school graduation. High school students who completed or are enrolled in college coursework or have earned a degree while in high school are considered first-year applicants.
Transfer Student: A student who has previously attended one or more post-secondary institution following high school graduation.
International Student: A student who is not a United States citizen and
i. Will be present in the United States on a temporary non-immigrant basis, or
ii. Will study online from outside the United States.
Former Student: A former enrolled student who leaves an institution and returns to the same institution.
Collaborative Student: A student who is earning a degree from Mayville State University, but taking courses at another North Dakota University System (NDUS) institution within the same term for financial aid purposes
Early Entry Student: A high school student who is admitted to take college courses.
Graduate Student: A student who has earned a bachelor’s degree and is pursuing additional education in a specific program.
Non-Degree Student: A student whose goal is to take a limited number of course for the purposes of personal or professional enrichment and who have no intent of accumulating credits toward a certificate or degree
