EDUC 526 Foundations of Practices in Reading Instruction

The focus of this course is on the development of reading instructional strategies in K-12 classrooms across all content areas with an emphasis on non-fiction text. Scientifically and researched-based best practices in fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, assessment in reading ability, and the identification and correction of reading difficulties are emphasized. Participation in teaching demonstrations supports teacher candidates’ use of teaching strategies.
