EC 398 Child Development Internship
This course is intended for teacher candidates in the Bachelor of Arts Early Childhood program who already have an Associate of Arts with an internship. The purpose of this experience is to relate what is learned in the Early Childhood classes to actual teaching practices. Teacher candidates will teach both formal and informal (play) activities under supervision in a setting with children ages 3-5. Teacher candidates will demonstrate their respect and acceptance of their children’s families and their social and cultural backgrounds. Teacher candidates who are placed in an Early Childhood classroom 10 hours a week or more are required to be fingerprinted and complete a background check. This 300-hour internship experience occurs at the conclusion of the major and specialization. This course fulfills LEAP requirements. Pre-requisite: Instructor consent
