HIST 417 Modern Russian Political History

This course emphasizes the study of modern Russia and the Soviet Union from 1855 to the recent past. Special emphasis is placed on the following areas: political revolutionary thought, causes and result of the October Revolution in 1917, establishment and organization of the USSR, Joseph Stalin's rule/dictatorship, the post Stalinist era. Prerequisite: ENGL 120 or consent of instructor.
