Campus Facilities
The Mayville State campus fosters an environment of personal service while offering all the facilities needed to develop a comprehensive site for living and learning. This includes providing facilities that accommodate a wide variety of extracurricular activities. The campus covers 55 acres, and the majority of academic buildings are joined by corridors that help to make traveling between classes pleasant, no matter the weather.
The Mayville State University campus is currently experiencing a renaissance, starting with a major remodeling project that was recently completed in the Campus Center. The project has provided a new student-friendly bookstore, mailroom, and student lounges. Legacy Plaza, a project spearheaded by the Mayville State Alumni Association, was completed in the summer of 2024. Legacy Plaza provides beautiful landscaping and patios along a major thoroughfare running east and west across campus.
Highlighting this period of campus upgrades is the renovation of Old Main. Mayville State was extremely fortunate to receive $52,254,901 in state funding for the renovation of its flagship building during the legislative session in 2023. Preliminary work began shortly after and has continued during the months that have followed. The renovation of Old Main is transformational not only for the building, but also for the entire university, community, and region.
The project will modernize this historic building, providing state-of-the-art classroom facilities, greater accessibility, and better efficiency. Students, staff, and faculty will enjoy more classroom and communal space. The renovation honors Old Main's legacy as a cornerstone of the Mayville State University campus, while growing with the university into the future as we continue to meet the needs of students and prepare them for success in the classroom and beyond. The project is slated for completion in the summer of 2026.
When considering the Campus Center remodel, completion of Legacy Plaza, and the renovation of Old Main, nearly half of the Mayville State campus space will be “new” by the fall of 2026.
