Students are required to provide their own compatible notebook computer for classroom use. This allows students 24/7 access to a computer for developing class presentations, spreadsheets, databases, and discipline-specific applications. Continuous access to a notebook computer and the integration of technology in the classroom will better prepare students for their careers upon graduation. The MSU Service Desk has devices available for temporary checkout in the case of damage or theft of a personal device. Students are responsible for repair or replacement in a timely fashion.
The MSU Service Desk, location in Library B06, provides technical support for computers, computer networking, and interactive video services. The MSU Service Desk is available for phone and walk-in support approximately eight hours per day, Monday through Friday. Visit http://mayvillestate.edu/its for Service Desk hours of operation. The North Dakota University System Help Desk (http://helpdesk.ndus.edu or 1-866-457-6387) provides additional support 24 hours a day, seven days per week, except holidays.
