PSYC 375 Behavioral Pharmacology
This course is designed to acquaint the student with the field of behavioral pharmacology defined in the broad sense and provide an understanding which may be employed in the student’s life and chosen vocation. The course will provide the students with understanding of the physiological effects, pharmacological effects, and behavioral effects of psychoactive drugs in humans. Pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics will be discussed as well as tolerance, withdrawal, dependence, and addiction. The principal focus is on humans and human behavior, in addition, the characteristics of various categories of drugs will be discussed. Prerequisite: PSYC 111. Corequisites: PSYC 435 or BIOL 221.
