EDUC 526 Foundations of Practices in Reading Instruction

This course is grounded in the theoretical bases of balanced literacy instruction and constructivist learning. Students will build competencies in reading instruction and planning literacy-based lessons to support standards-based practices. Students examine resources needed for continuous improvement of teaching and learning in the context of inter-disciplinary literacy.  The role of the teacher-leader in literacy instruction is explored in this course.
