Develop language skills and experiences and a sound appreciation for the liberal arts in Mayville State University’s English/English Education programs. MSU provides quality literary experiences that help prepare students for a wide variety of career opportunities.

Mayville State University’s English programs prepare students for careers, life-long learning, citizenship, cultural enhancement, and problem solving. Core requirements provide a comprehensive overview of basic materials and a commitment to innovative technology-enriched education and learning relationships with community, employers, and society.

English majors must complete 36 hours of essential studies. The following Essential Studies courses are required: COMM 110, ENGL 110, ENGL 120 or ENGL 125, PSYC 111, and SOC 110.  These courses are pre-requisite courses to this major.

Students will be required to complete a minor.
