EDUC 426 Reading In The Content Area

Cross listed with ENGL 426. This course is designed to develop understandings of literacy approaches that support discipline-specific instruction. Students will build competencies in planning and implementing balanced, literacy-based lessons that support differentiated instruction specific to their academic discipline(s). Students will use research-based content-area literacy strategies in a course-related teaching experience. This course is required for all secondary education majors. Pre-requisite: Admission to Teacher Education and junior standing.
