EC 335 Art, Music, and Play in ECE

The purpose of this course is to address play, music and movement, creative art, and drama in the early childhood and primary education classrooms. Students will develop and implement an integrated curriculum that focuses on children's needs and interests, considering especially each child's individual culture and family. In addition, students will discover the influence that purposeful play has on children's social, cognitive and physical development. This knowledge will enhance their ability to create, evaluate, and select developmentally appropriate materials, equipment, environments, and strategies for children Pre-K - Third Grade. This course is for educators who will teach in Birth to Third Grade classrooms. Prerequisites: EC 210, EC 211. Spring.
